For our locations in the Netherlands (Rotterdam and Amsterdam) we are looking for a Customs employee

A customs clerk applies the customs, excise duty and VAT legislation correctly and provides the necessary information to customers and/or SDV offices. He/she carries out the customs-related tasks in accordance with the prescribed procedures, instructions, AEO & ISO standards.

The customs clerk is responsible for:
  • The full processing of the shipping dossier, both import and export, with regard to customs-related aspects.
  • Applying for dossier-related customs permits
  • Preparing customs declarations
  • Monitoring customs procedures
  • Updating and Informing the parties concerned, namely customers, colleagues, suppliers etc
  • Monitoring the turnaround time of the customs activities, aimed at optimising customer satisfaction

He/she must have adequate social and communication skills when informing customers, agents, suppliers, etc.
Leadership does not apply. A degree of self-management is required. He/she is responsible for his/her own contribution to the team and the organisation.
A customs clerk has contacts with:
  • His manager and close colleagues about the day to day activities
  • The various operational departments about the day to day activities
  • Customs in connection with customs investigations and dossier audits
  • Customers, agents and suppliers about shipping dossiers
  • Other departments for good cooperation and to resolve any problems>
